Game Style Rules

These rules define how our inline hockey games are played. We encourage all players, coaches, and parents to review them carefully before the season begins.

Game Format

Periods: 3 periods of 15 minutes each (running clock)

Teams: Minimum of 4 skaters and 1 goalie per side

Faceoffs: Conventional – Start of each Period, After goals, Goalie Saves, Out of play

Offsides & Icing: Conventional – Not enforced

Penalties

  • Minor Penalty: 2 minutes (running clock)
  • Major Penalty: 5 minutes
  • Game Misconduct: Ejection from the game
  • Players will be ejected after 3 penalties in a single game.

Scoring

  • Standard goal = 1 point
  • Mercy Rule: Team based decision.

Timeouts

  • 1 timeout per team, per game (30 seconds)

Overtime (Playoffs only)

  • 3v3 5 minute sudden death overtime
  • If still tied, shootout (best of 3, then sudden death)

Equipment Requirements

For safety and league compliance, the following gear must be worn by all players:

Required Gear (All Players)

  • Inline hockey skates (no brakes)
  • Helmet with full-face cage
    • Exception for Adults that are 18+ years of age. Play at your own risk.
  • Elbow pads
  • Shin guards
  • Hockey Gloves
  • Girdle or padded shorts with cup/pelvic protector
  • Hockey Stick

Goalie-Specific Equipment

  • Goalie skates
  • Chest protector
  • Blocker and catcher gloves
  • Goalie leg pads
  • Goalie mask

Jersey & Uniform

  • League-issued jersey and number must be worn during all games

⚠️ Players missing required gear will not be permitted to play until fully equipped.
